Service & scheduling

What areas do you serve?

We serve homeowners, landlords, and property owners across South-Central Pennsylvania: York, Lancaster, Dauphin, Cumberland, and Adams counties. If you are near the edge of those counties, call and ask; we will tell you whether we can get to you.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Panel Swap Electric is fully licensed and insured in Pennsylvania. Every job is done to code and left inspection-ready.

How fast can you respond?

We respond to most quote requests within 24 hours, often the same day. The fastest way to reach us is to call or text (717) 699-8820.

Do you charge for a quote?

No. Quotes are free. Tell us what you need, send a photo of your panel or inspection report if you have one, and we will give you a clear price before any work starts.

Panel swaps & upgrades

Do I need a panel swap or a service upgrade?

A swap replaces your existing panel at the same amperage, usually because the old panel is failing, outdated, or a flagged brand like Federal Pacific or Zinsco. An upgrade increases your service capacity, most commonly from 100 amps to 200 amps. If you are not sure which one you need, send us a photo of your panel and we will tell you.

100-amp vs 200-amp service. Which one do I need?

100-amp service is often fine for a smaller home without heavy electric loads. We recommend stepping up to 200 amps if you are adding an EV charger, electric heat or a heat pump, a finished basement or addition, or simply want to add capacity for future expansion. We will walk you through what your specific property calls for.

How long does a panel swap take?

Most standard panel swaps are done in a single day. A few variables (utility coordination, hidden wiring issues, or a full service upgrade) can stretch a job to two days. We will tell you which one you are looking at before we start.

Will my power be out during the work?

Yes, your power will be off for part of the day while we swap the panel, and we coordinate the disconnect and reconnect with your utility. We plan the outage with you ahead of time so it is no surprise.

I have a Federal Pacific or Zinsco panel. Is that a problem?

These older panels are commonly flagged by home inspectors because their breakers do not always trip reliably, which is a real fire-safety concern. In most cases we recommend replacing them. We will look at yours and give you an honest assessment rather than a scare tactic.

Paperwork & inspections

Do you handle the paperwork and inspections?

Yes. We handle all the required paperwork and coordinate the inspection so the work is signed off properly. You should not have to chase any of it. That is part of the job.

My home inspection report flagged electrical issues. Can you help?

Absolutely. This is a lot of what we do, especially for buyers and sellers under deadline. Send us the report. We will translate the flags into plain English, tell you what actually needs to be addressed, and quote the fix.

Other electrical work

Can you split a meter for a duplex or multi-unit conversion?

Yes. Multifamily Meter Installations are one of our specialties. Separating utilities legally in PA takes more than adding a second panel. It involves utility coordination, paperwork, and the right inspection sequence. We handle the whole process.

Can you install a circuit for an EV charger?

Yes. EV charger circuits are a common add-on, and they often pair naturally with a Panel Upgrade if your panel does not have the capacity. We will size it correctly for your vehicle and your panel.

Do you do smaller jobs and troubleshooting?

Yes. Beyond panels, we handle device swaps, new-construction wiring, and troubleshooting when something is not working right. If you are not sure whether it is in our wheelhouse, just ask.

How much will my job cost?

It depends on scope. A straight swap, a full service upgrade, and a Multifamily Meter Installation are three different jobs at three different prices. That is exactly why every quote is free and specific to your property. Reach out and we will give you a real number, not a vague range.

Still have a question?

Every property is different. Call or text and talk to someone who actually does the work. No phone tree, no sales pitch.
